Botox

Botox Procedure

Botox Recovery
Botox recovery time is minimal with some patients experiencing a slight temporary redness or superficial bruising at the areas of injection, depending upon individual sensitivity. Normal daily activities can resume immediately following treatment, with patients advised not to drink excessively or perform rigorous exercise for a period of 4-6 hours. There will be no change in sensation to the skin, and cosmetic products and skincare can be used as normal.
Botox Risks
As with any medication, there are specific patients who are not suitable for the Botox procedure, including pregnant or breastfeeding women. Patients with specific bleeding disorders and muscle activity disorders are not advised to receive Botox injections, along with individuals who have had a heightened sensitivity to similar formulations. Bleeding or bruising at the site of the injection can occasionally occur along with a small amount of swelling and a slight headache in some patients. In some cases the forehead muscles can be relaxed too much causing the eyebrow area to droop slightly. This is a rare temporary occurrence that will disappear within 8-10 weeks of the treatment.
Whenever the skin is broken, even with sterile needles, there is always the possibility for infection.
