Captique
Captique is a branded hyaluronic acid agent that is injected just under the surface of the skin to temporarily reduce wrinkles, fine lines and shallow scarring. The clear gel dermal filler is one of the newer products to enter the market having been approved by the FDA in 2004. The non-animal derived filler is suitable for moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, with the effects lasting for up to one year. Since the product is created from plant based materials there is no requirement for a pre-test and can be injected safely and effectively into areas such as the lips to achieve desired augmentation and a younger, fresher looking appearance.
Captique was introduced to the U.S. dermal and cosmetic filler market to be a direct competitor of Restylane and is based upon the same type gel, which is a highly concentrated and stabilized hyaluronic acid for maximum skin acceptance and low allergic reaction rate. Average treatment price is about $640 per 1cc syringe, with the average treatment requiring between 1cc and 2cc of the product.
